Use these five tips to immediately change the online giving efforts on your site and improve the way you fundraise online.
1.) Make your donate button big, prominent, and "above the fold" on every page of your website. Can you find it within 1-2 seconds?
2.) Keep it simple. Limit the number of fields on your donation form. Only offer a handful of priority funds to support. Be sure there is only one clear call to action (donate).
3.) Include images and very brief copy on the donation form to connect emotionally with the donor.
4.) Be sure there is an immediate, online confirmation of the gift. It should be warm, sincere, and accurate.
5.) Don't forget a personalized hardcopy acknowledgement letter via snail mail for every online gift.
