The program's goals are to:

  • Promote board members’ learning about other camps, sharing experiences, best practices and lessons gained in their volunteer camp journeys.
  • Strengthening board members’ personal and professional camping networks, including meeting new board members.

Participation in the program is limited. Camps interested in applying must have the endorsement of their JCamp 180 mentor prior to submitting an application. This JCamp 180 program has been created to promote new connections between Board members and camps. It will not fund programs where Board members of camps with common movement affiliations convene.

There are two options for participation: The Board2Board program reimburses participants up to $2,000 per person (maximum $5,000 per camp) for approved travel costs incurred in this Board2Board exchange program. Only board members of JCamp 180 affiliated camps are eligible for reimbursement through this program. Reimbursement payments are made to the camp, and not the individual traveler.

A full description of the Board2Board exchange program, including the program reimbursement policy, can be found in the program guidelines.

Camps interested in participating should complete and submit a program application no later than April 3, 2020. Applications will be competitively reviewed; camps will be notified of their status shortly after the application deadline.
