Jewish Life and Legacy

December 25, 2012

Dear Life & Legacy Communities,

You have all had recent, wonderfully optimistic contact with Gail Littman in relation to Life & Legacy, so we realize that the news of her sudden and tragic death on Friday due to heart failure must be all the more painful. As we at the Harold Grinspoon Foundation suffer our own enormous grief, our hearts go out to you.

For five years our Foundation had the privilege to work with Gail -- a truly extraordinary woman whose genius and charisma shaped the legacy vision not only for us but also for Jewish communities like yours and for other organizations across the country.  She was not just a rare talent; she was a beautiful human being and very giving of herself.

Life & Legacy was her dream project, the culmination of all the work she had done to help communities build robust legacy programs to sustain them in the future. Right up until her last moments, she was thoroughly engaged in all the details that would ensure the success of this extraordinary program being funded by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation in partnership with local communities.
Gail is now with the angels. But her legacy is with us, and she will live on in our continuing efforts together to realize the amazing dream she left behind.

If you would like to make a gift in Gail's memory, the family has requested that such contributions be directed to the Gail Littman Living Legacy Fund at the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego, 4950 Murphy Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92123. This fund will support organizations and causes that reflect Gail's values and life's work in building, strengthening, and sustaining community.
May her name be for a blessing.
